Bean is a family – run cottage industry nestled in the
rolling hills of the Ottawa Valley. Here on 10 acres of land we
produce from 300 to 400 lbs.
of tempeh a day.
In 1979, after eating tempeh for years and finally learning and
mastering the technique of making tempeh, we felt there was a need
for a high protein alternative in the natural food market. Now
after three decades of business, we have kept the essence
of a family business and firmly believe that "small is beautiful".
